The Coolah & Dunedoo District Diaries

These fortnightly newspapers have been established since 1992 and were the very first community newspapers of their type in the state.
The Coolah and Dunedoo District Diaries were the first newspapers to put advertising with the stories and to distribute on a regular basis free to every home and reaching over 7,000 people. 2750 copies are collectively distributed by Australia Post (alternate weeks - Coolah Diary one week and Dunedoo Diary the next).
To continue our forward thinking the Diaries are now available online to better serve our advertisers and be a positive model for the Coolah and Dunedoo Districts.
Publishing on average 52 pages each fortnight, the focus is on providing a detailed source of local news with an agricultural flavour to Coolah and districts - Binnaway, Cassilis, Leadville, Mullaley, Neilrex, Premer, Spring Ridge, Tambar Springs, Uarbry and Weetaliba. Dunedoo and districts - Leadville, Birriwa, Cobbora, Elong Elong, Mendooran, Ballimore.

The Market
Coolah, Dunedoo and Districts boast a market rich in agriculture, including fine and superfine wool and meat sheep, cattle and cropping. This is the richest agricultural base in NSW and is described as being the “food bowl” of Australia, bringing an estimated $100mil to the area.

The Townships
The Coolah and Dunedoo townships have positive population growth and in Coolah the potential to grow markedly following the wind farm proposals for the area. There is high community participation from community members who are energetic and motivated. Coolah and Dunedoo are mini regional centres due to our geographic location. The nearest major towns being Dubbo, Mudgee and Tamworth up to 200kms away.
The Coolah and Dunedoo districts are niche areas and are not serviced by any other newspapers.
